Non-Discrimination of Services

Policy:

ELITE HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS will admit individuals, and provide services to all patients, without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, mental or physical handicap / disability, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or age. All persons and organizations having occasion either to refer persons for services or to recommend this hospice program are advised to do so without regard to the person’s race, color, ancestry, national origin, mental or physical handicap / disability, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or age. Care will not be reduced based on funding sources or diagnosis. ELITE HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS do not provide services to pediatric patients because the Hospice is not properly equipped for and staff members are not trained in pediatric care.

Objectives:

To ensure the provision of hospice services to any patient found to meet federal and state hospice admission criteria.
To ensure compliance with the applicable provisions of 45 C.F.R. Parts 80, 84 and 91.
To ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 (nondiscrimination on the basis of age), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, 42 U.S.C. § 18116.

Procedure(s):

1) The person designated to coordinate compliance with this policy (other than compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) is the Administrator.

2) The person designated to coordinate compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (discrimination against the handicapped) is the Administrator.

3) All advertising for employees or volunteers or public advertising designed to promote utilization of hospice by patients and families shall comply with and refer to this policy.

4) Persons seeking employment at this hospice and all vendors, contractors, clients, and others doing business with this hospice program are informed of the hospice program’s adherence to the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action principles.
